Bulgur 4 servings
Bulgar wheat a healthy grain that is very easy to cook. You can either make it on your stovetop or you can just soak it.
Ingredients:
1 cup bulgur
Pick one of the following cooking options:
1) Stovetop method (like cooking rice):
Combine bulgur with 2 cups water in a pot. Bring to a boil; cover the pot, reduce heat to simmer and cook until tender, about 12 minutes. Drain off any excess liquid and fluff bulgur with a fork.
2) Soaking method:
Place bulgur in a bowl. Add 1 cup of boiling water; stir until bulgur is moistened. Let it stand for one hour. Drain any leftover liquid.
Notes:
You can serve this grain like rice. Some people like to add a little salt and olive oil or butter before serving.
It’s also delicious when it’s made into tabbouli salad!
